Glin Rovers V Shountrade 3-0
Kayla Riordan and Aoife Lyons had us 2 goals up within 5 minutes.
Glin scored twice in the first 5 minutes dispatching the ball into the shountrade net. Both from attacks down the left hand side.
The game settled down after 15 minutes with shountrade asking some questions of our defence who have held the line brilliantly. A tough battle in midfield in the first half also but again Glin holding firm.
Loren Healy put us 3-0 up 3 mins into second half from close range when she beat a shountrade defender at the left hand side of the post to slot the ball home. A terrific team performance tonight from the entire team. The 3-0 scoreline probably is hard on shountrade who themselves played very well but our back line was very good and dealt very efficiently with shountrade when they ventured near our goal line or penalty box. Rachel Healy, Maeve Dunne, Grace Sweeney and Emma Sweeney did very well tonight especially in the second half.. Lilyrose Hewitt dealt with any shot that came here way with ease tonight. Midfield was a tough contest but strong performances from Loren Healy, Hannah Mulvihill, Cait Culhane and Aoife Lyons kept Shountrade at bay. Pamela Guerin did well linking in between midfield and back tonight and Annie Normile, Kayla Riordan and Vikekanandhan Logapriya kept shountrade defenders on their toes all night. It was a fine performance from Fergus Healy and Karena Culhanes charges.
