In what was a fine competitive outing for both sides Glin Rovers edged Rathkeale on penalties to take the victory. Dylan Buckely scored for Glin today during normal time after a solid display form the young man.

Mike Stack saved one penalty well today which proved vital. Gary Culhane, James Broderick, Zach Behan, Dylan Buckley and Tom Healy all dispatched their penalties today.

Ballingarry open the scoring after 10 mins but Edward Mulvihill equalised with a fine headed goal. Ballingarry B struck 3 times in second half to seal the win.

A Great performance from the girls, we could have won by more and could have been held to a draw!
Missed penalties, hit crossbars and super saves from Annie Normile the game had everything. Ayla Reidy playing her third game of the day scored at the end of the first half.
Great defense from Emma who captained on her birthday, Meabh playing her second full match of the day and Rachel and Grace playing their third!
Well done to everyone and get well soon to both Lily Rose and Victoria both goalkeepers injured today in action!
We had Grace Sweeney to thank 3 minutes into second half when she made a great clearance off the line from a St itas shot on goal. It was a certain goal only for her intervention.

These goals were in fact the 1st goals ever scored in an u14 Girls League game by Glin.
Glin Rovers U14 had a great 2-1 win today in Glantine on their league season opener against a very strong Mountcollins/Glantine side.
MC/G took the lead early on, and Catherine Dunne equalised on 20 minutes after a great team move. Catherine Dunne was fouled in the box after 30 minutes, and Kayla Riordan stepped up to put away the penalty with a brilliant strike to the bottom corner.
Glin Rovers saw the game out in great fashion to record the win. Well done to all 19 girls that played today.

On 3 mins - the 1st chance fell to Shannonside but Ellie Hewitt made a good save with her leg to keep it 0-0.
After 35 mins it was 2-1 to Shannonside in what was a good game. It was such a fast game with both sides giving it their all. It was Elena O Connor with our goal in the second half after some great team work by all.
It ended 3-1 to Shannonside but the girls played their hearts out. 3-1 is not a scoreline that reflects how close a game it was. We hit the post once and shannonside keeper made a vital save with 3 mins to go at the expense of a corner. Shannonside got a 3rd goal at the very end.
The Girls played a great game. Non stop effort...... Roll on game 2... From tonight's game it's all looking good. Great effort and play from the girls who deserved a draw tonight, outstanding effort from all the players in the squad tonight, it's very encouraging to see how easy the team rotated and all the girls kept pushing shannonside trying to get the equaliser. They came so close a few times up front and at the other end the defense and midfield battled all night against a good shannonside team.
